Costa Rican Geotechnical Association

The Costa Rican Geotechnics Association is a non-governmental organization attached to the College of Civil Engineers of Costa Rica, which was created in 1979 by a group of Costa Rican civil engineers, committed to the development of geotechnics in Costa Rica.

It is part of the Society International Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, which brings together professionals in this branch throughout the world. It has more than 50 members in Costa Rica, including geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, geologists and geological engineers.

Among its most important projects Important is the publication of the Costa Rica Foundation Code, promulgated as a regulation for all engineers in the country in 1994. A new version of the Code is currently under review, to be published this year.
